Digital twin project
In this project, we integrate data from various sources, distilling it into user-friendly formats that empower users to update their source of truth with accuracy and confidence. By harmonising disparate data sources and presenting them in intuitive interfaces, we help users make better decisions, making sure their main data stays reliable.
Role : Product Designer
As a Product Designer, my primary responsibility was to translate user stories and requirements into actionable wireframes, ensuring alignment with project objectives and user needs. Collaborating closely with developers, I validated designs to ensure technical feasibility and adherence to project scope. We then present design solutions back to the client, facilitating discussions and ensuring alignment with their vision and expectations. This involved effectively communicating design rationale and incorporating client feedback to iterate and refine designs.
What was the purpose
-
Centralisation
Consolidating multiple data sources into a single, reliable source of truth to streamline decision-making and ensure consistency.
-
Simplification
Designing an intuitive and user-friendly experience to navigate a complex process, reducing user friction and enhancing usability.
-
Flexibility
Providing users with reliable updates and flexible options for data management, empowering them to customise their experience according to their needs and preferences.
-
User Role Clarity
Collaborated with clients to ensure the design effectively communicates the distinct roles of multiple user types, facilitating a deeper understanding of their respective functionalities and responsibilities within the system.
-
Software Enhancement
Developed a program that enhances upon the existing software utilised by the client, addressing pain points and introducing features tailored to improve overall efficiency and user experience.
-
Scalable Solution
Engineered a bespoke solution tailored to the unique needs of the client, while also allowing for scalability and future growth, ensuring that the system can adapt to evolving requirements and the expanding userbase.
The design work
Map and Data Editing
We developed a feature allowing users to receive updates on map points through an item list, streamlining the process of accessing and managing updated data points. This solution offers users a convenient way to stay informed about changes from ingested sources, ensuring they have easy access to highlighted updates without the need to navigate through the entire map interface.
Once reviewed and saved, editors can easily push updates for approval, facilitating efficient collaboration between different user types with varying roles.
Version history
I designed a version history feature to enhance users' understanding of data sources, enabling them to track the origins of data and monitor updates and changes over time for historical reference.
This supports future enhancements, including the ability to revert to previous versions when needed.
